Australian Pink Argyle Diamonds

MDTdesign stocks a large amount of Pink Argyle Diamonds both loose and set into jewellery pieces. This allows you to pick the exact Argyle pink diamond you are after and compare loose as viewing different diamonds already set into jewellery at times makes it hard to compare.

As with all white diamonds, Pink Argyle Diamonds have a colour grading scale. Pink  Argyle Diamonds are not just graded on the colour but is taken that one step further and graded also on the Pink Diamonds Hue.
The rare Argyle Pink Diamonds are firstly graded on a scale 1 to 9 witch refers to only the intensity in colour in which the Argyle Pink Diamond displays.

The grading of the Argyle Pink Diamonds are from 1 to 9 with 1 being the most intense in colour and 9 being the lightest shade of pink. Be sure to understand that this scale purely refers to the intensity of colour in a Pink diamond and does not refer to the actual colour of the Pink Argyle Diamond itself as tones do vary. The more intense in colour, the more rare and desierable an Argyle Pink Diamond is.   Intensity of a Pink Diamond

o    Very intense Pink(1)
o    Intense Pink (2)
o    Strong Pink (3)
o    Medium Pnk (4)
o    Medium Light Pink (5)
o    Light Pink (6)
o    Very Light Pink (7)
o    Blush of Pink (8)
o    Light Blush of Pink (9)
The second grading scale for Argyle Pink Diamonds refers only to the actual colour of the Pink Diamond itself also known as the Hue. Yes a Pink Diamond is pink in colour, but a Pink Diamonds colour can vary from a hint of purple to a hint of champagne and letters are used for this grading scale and can have a large impact on price as the rarity and desirability of each does change.

o    P : Pink
o    PR: Pink Rose
o    PC: Pink Champagne
A Pink Diamond does also have a Diamond clarity grading which works in the exact same way as a white diamond clarity scale. As with all diamonds we recommend always viewing a Pink Diamond before a purchase is made. We have found with Pink Diamonds that clarity grades display differently to a white diamond as there is a pink backing to the inclusion rather than a white. A white or black inclusion in a pink diamond usually is a little more visible than the same inclusion in a white diamond.
Pink Argyle diamonds of a larger scale do come with either a Argyle Certificate and smaller stones have an Argyle lot number. Larger stones and are often Laser Inscribed for that added bit of security and verification that will match to the Argyle diamond Certificate also given.
